PosJet Ink Smudging by Epson 2200 Printer

Necessity is the mother of invention.

All’s well that ends well.

I had to go back and revisit the Epson Printer exit wheel (not pie wheels) impact on the ink that has not dried at the point of exit from the printer. These rollers smudge the ink as the ink is slow to dry on the Posjet film. My designs do not cover an entire sheet of PosJet film so I was able to find a unique solution.

Link to this site to see a picture of the solution. I just inserted the tiny size nylon wire ties in the slot of the rubber roller assembly after pushing the rubber wheel up. The roller is then lifted off of the print paper and the smudge from the wheel is gone. I left the rollers down on the edges of the paper to provide some paper exit traction. I print my designs in the center band of the paper that has the exit rollers lifted up.

ink supply sells 8 inserts for $2.00 if you don't like the plastic wire-tie trick.

This also works for glossy paper smudge problems.
