OK, I used the “method” described in the last post. I deviated slightly in that I rubbed down copper plate with acetone & steel wool instead of alcohol. I also rubbed a just heated area with a small leather swatch to really press that toner against the copper for overkill.
I am very pleased! I got 5 perfect plates in a row and my confidence is soaring. The pnp blue plastic surface will have a very black image of the design when applied correctly. The plastic surface will have no wrinkles or bumps.
So now I will get back to doing battle with the optimization of the electro-etching process now that I have tough design resists with the toner process. I may revisit puretch at some point but for now I have to move forward with my eye on the prize!
