Agnes
Scott College is located in Decatur, Georgia. This scene was photographed
in June, 2004 around 5:00 PM. The rendering is a very soft interpretation
using a technique that removes details without altering definition. Light
and contrast are always important composition details.

This
is another example of the use of the technique that removes details without
altering definition. This image is tighter than the Agnes Scott College
Image, as the client wanted more detail to remain. The foliage has received
more "painterly" touches.

Thompson
Grocery is located in Saluda, North Carolina. This scene was photographed
one bright and sunny Sunday morning in the fall of 2000. This image uses
all hand brushed effects and no filtration except for color balance. The
kids in the picture were playing at the playground across the street and
ran over to be in the picture.

This
scene of the Old Woolworth Store in Anderson South Carolina was rendered
in the style of Edward Hopper in order to get a warm nostalgic feeling.

A composite
image is an alternative to "shadow boxing" the original keepsakes.
Photographs, memorabilia and objects can all be scanned and then combined
to tell a story. In this case, photographs, a blotter, ledger sheet, valves
and stamps were combined to tell the story on the occasion of the 6oth anniversary
of this business. By making some objects transparent, more information can
be displayed. |
| |

Another
application for compositing is for hobbies or vacations. This composite
was made from photographs taken while this client was out for a spin. The
"in the wind" photograph in the background is as the rider pictured
it and not as the camera captured the houses and street signs in the subdivision.
Also check out the effect applied to the speedometer.

The
photograph of this gentleman had been stored poorly and had the classic
deterioration common in old photographs. The picture had been folded,
stained, light-damaged and scratched. The image was also in black &
white. The client wanted the damage "restored" and color added
that was typical of hand tinting of the period. If you will roll-over
the image with your cursor, you can see the original photograph.
As with all the examples, you may "click"
to see a detailed image.
